Say hello to Can, Backend Developer at Accutics. In this interview, he shares his journey to Accutics and love for rock music, neuroscience, and Lord of the Rings.

What do you at Accutics?

I am responsible for maintaining and building new features for our platform. Working as a Backend Developer, I design and implement APIs for our server-side web applications. Currently, I am working on a new project coming out later this year.

How did you start getting interested in programming?

I’ve been into technology since I was a little kid. I was even lucky enough to have my first computer at the age of 6. Although it had no internet connection and only had a 3 GB hard disk, I was fascinated enough by it and later on decided to take it as a career path. As a lot of years passed, I ended up finishing my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering.

What brought you to Accutics?

I’ve been working as a developer mainly in a backend domain and always been interested in the tech start-up scene and familiar with marketing solutions. However, analytics and campaign tracking concepts were pretty new to me. As an enthusiastic developer seeking new challenges, Accutics was a great match for me.

We, developers, implement our solutions with flexibility and by having full responsibility to build a robust and clean architecture.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Here at Accutics, I get to work on various aspects of backend development and get into concepts that I haven’t worked on before. We, developers, implement our solutions with flexibility and by having full responsibility to build a robust and clean architecture. This helps a lot to keep the motivation and also the learning curve. I enjoy working together with such inspiring and committed people who are professionals in their fields.

What are you up to in your free time?

Ever since my childhood, listening to music has been my all-time favorite. I was just into rock and metal before, but later on, I expanded my range considerably. I love going to concerts and music festivals. Apart from music, I like reading and following science news, especially neuroscience and technology. I enjoy board games and video games, mostly strategy, indie and puzzle. I like travelling and all kinds of novelty.

I studied physics for two years and then quit, the whites in my hair are reminders for me.

Name three random things about yourself

  • I’ve watched Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Edition +10 times, usually with friends.
  • I studied physics for two years and then quit, the whites in my hair are reminders for me.
  • I’m considering a Master's in neuroscience or cognitive science.

What’s something you think most people might not know about you?

I was volunteering in a lot of music festivals while I was a student. During these times, I was backstage worker for bands like Rammstein, Red Hot Chili Peppers and so on. These were pretty fun times.
