Say hello to Venelin, Front-End Developer at Accutics and a fan of bouldering, cortado, and Angular.

What do you at Accutics?

I’m the lead front-end developer, which means that I’m in charge of implementing the user interface and integrating the communication with our backend services. Right now I’m working on creating a new platform that is going to combine our products into one which is super exciting.

How did you get interested in programming?

It all started during my first job as a full-stack developer. We made a switch from jQuery to the most fashionable framework back then - AngularJS. It was at this point that I fell in love with user interactions and component-based architecture and a few months later I started working as a remote front-end developer for a small Swiss company.

What brought you to Accutics?

I really liked the idea of starting a new application from scratch where I can use all the latest
cutting-edge technology. It is always challenging to start something completely new and I am always up for a new challenge!

I have started going bouldering almost since I came to Denmark, which is quite a challenge. It is really similar to being a developer as you have to solve new problems and learn new things all the time.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favourite part of being a front-end developer is learning new things. It’s one of the
fastest changing fields in my opinion as new tools and best practices are emerging all the
 time.

What are you up to in your free time?

I enjoy being active and doing physical activities in my free time. I have started going bouldering almost since I came to Denmark, which is quite a challenge. It is really similar to being a developer as you have to solve new problems and learn new things all the time.
When I need time to myself, I usually go to the gym for a weight lifting workout, it
 keeps me relaxed and energetic.

I enjoy watching Japanese anime shows which have developed my fascination for Japanese culture and Japan

Name three random things about yourself

  • I love brunch so we usually go to a new brunch place every weekend with my girlfriend
  • I have competed twice in fitness competitions in Denmark
  • I love coffee, especially cortado, it’s the perfect combination of bitterness and sweetness from the milk

What’s something you think most people might not know about you?

I enjoy watching Japanese anime shows which have developed my fascination for Japanese culture and Japan. Therefore, my dream is to visit Japan one day.
